Different types of lasers are used to remove irregular contours, discolored areas, tattoos, blood vessels and unwanted hair. Some of these lasers can be calibrated to have a longer pulse of the laser light or a higher energy of light to accommodate the color of one's skin tone. More energy is required to treat light skinned individuals and less energy is required to treat dark skinned individuals. Doctor David and Natalie LaMond use a formula which takes into account a patient's age, skin type, health history and area of treatment to determine the most beneficial settings of the laser.

Unlike other practices providing pulsed light treatments, we use lasers to safely and effectively treat sun damage, age spots, brown spots, freckles, rosacea, and wrinkles in one comprehensive treatment without downtime. .
Sunspots and Hyperpigmentation. Pigmented or brown lesions, including freckles, melasma, age, liver, or sun spots, "cafe-au-lait" birthmarks, and nevi (moles) can be successfully treated with lasers. The advantage of the newer laser systems is that the laser energy is absorbed selectively by the color of the lesion, avoiding harm to the surrounding skin. This is desirable, particularly on the face.
Laser Peel
It is a minimal to full epidermal laser peel that precisely removes the outermost layers of the skin. The procedure is individually tailored to the nature of the problem to be corrected: wrinkles, acne scarring, pigmentation and sun damage. It is especially effective for wrinkles around the eyes and mouth and has an immediate tightening effect.

Cellulite, Stretch Mark and Scar Treatment Stretch marks present as unsightly red to white areas, which occur commonly on the abdomen, arms, chest, and thighs. In essence, stretch marks represent a dermal scar in which the connective tissue (i.e.collagen and elastin) within the dermis is disrupted. The procedure is safe for all skin types. It is clear that laser treatment of stretch marks is a safe, and effective, treatment for this troublesome problem. Lasers of various wavelength and intensity may be used to re-contour cellulite and scar tissue and reduce the redness of skin around healed acne lesions, scars and keloids. The type of laser used is determined by the results that the laser treatment aims to accomplish.
Rosacea Therapy
Rosacea occurs when blood vessels move to just below the skin's surface, leading to blotchy red patches. A combination of lasers are used to treat rosacea (red face), we use a laser to remove background redness and a second laser to trace individual ‘telangetasias’ or small blood vessels on the face.
Acne and Acne Scarring
Laser therapy for acne works on acne in several ways. First, it prohibits the growth of the bacteria, Propionibacterium acnes, which is responsible for acne. Second, it decreases sebum production, which is responsible for the change in size and shape of pores. Third, it promotes growth factors, which prevent inflammation. Finally, lasers treat acne scars, which are typically the result of damage to the protein collagen of the skin. During the treatment, a series of laser treatments work beneath the surface skin layer to stimulate collagen growth. This helps improve scarring, as well as minimize fine lines. By stimulating collagen production, lasers give the skin a healthy glow and smoother texture.
Facial and Leg Vein Therapy
The GentleYAG laser is used to treat facial (spider) veins is one of the new generation Nd:YAG lasers that can effectively treat leg (varicose) veins. These veins are deeper and larger and were previously excluded from laser treatments. Laser therapy is now the best treatment for all facial veins, including blue veins around the temple. For leg veins, laser is used in combination with fine needle sclerotherapy.
